Typical uses

  • Production fillet and lap welds on carbon steel plate
  • Joints with imperfect fit-up that still need 70 ksi weld metal
  • General fabrication where speed matters but low hydrogen is not required

How it runs

  • Higher deposition rate than a plain rutile rod at the same amperage
  • Shallow to medium penetration with a soft, stable arc
  • Smooth, flat bead with a fine ripple and clean toes
  • Self-releasing slag over most of the bead length

Storage and handling

Dry storage is sufficient; no oven cycle is specified, though damp rods will still run poorly and cause surface porosity.
