A molybdenum-bearing solid wire for higher strength steels, combining an 80 ksi deposit with better impact toughness than simply pushing a carbon steel wire hotter.

How it runs
- Stiffer arc and slightly less fluid puddle than a plain carbon steel wire
- Molybdenum and manganese give good notch toughness as welded
- Sensitive to excessive heat input, which lowers the impact values
- Cleaner bead face with less silicon glass than a high silicon carbon steel wire
Storage and handling
Keep alloy wire spooled, bagged, and dry; surface contamination has a bigger effect on the deposit chemistry than it does on plain carbon steel wire.
